Disability Support Services

At Caring for families, we strive for excellence in disability support. Our team are skilled in supporting children and young people with
disability. We work hard to find the most effective and helpful support for families who may be experiencing challenges during their child’s
life time. We aim to provide the most appropriate, individualised plans that are informed by evidence-based practice guidelines.

• Psychometric assessment for cognitive ability and to assist in the diagnosis of intellectual disability
• Assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders for ages 6 and above, using the ADOS and ADI-R gold-standard diagnostic tools
• Assisting with challenging behaviours (working together with the parents and school to develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans)
• Development of Behavioural Support plans to help families manage challenging behaviour at home
• Support for families and children with diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder (using preventative strategies that enhance and promote psychological wellbeing)
• Support groups for families of children with disability
